Quick, it’s time to hide! The holidays are coming, which means its time for that inevitable weight gain! Holiday party after holiday party, goodies coming to work, making more goodies with family, the constant barrage of food- it all makes for a person who wakes up on Janauary 2nd at least 1-10 pounds heavier!
But is that really how it has to be? Shouldn’t we be celebrating, enjoying ourselves, AND keeping our bodies lean and healthy at the same time?
It seems to go against the grain, but it is possible to actually lose weight over the holidays.
I should know, I’ve seen it happen!
Several of my bootcampers took on a challenge last December, and there wasn’t a person among them who stepped into January with more fat on their bodies. Many of them slimmed down by 1, 3, or even 10 pounds.
This year, I would like to encourage you to take on the Holiday FatBlast Challenge. You can start as soon as Wednesday, November 17 or as late as Monday, November 29. The Challenge goes through December 7, 2011.
To do it, just follow the calendar I’ve laid out below. It’s working the wheels of carbohydrate cycling, which involves a day of high carbohydrates, a day or two of low carbohydrates, and a day or two of no carbohydrates. REFILL Days, which are days that are meant to refill the glycogen stores of the body, are built into the calendar on important (or possibly party-filled) days. Add this calendar to a high-quality workout regimen and you should find your fat stores shrinking, even with all the party food!
